Information about our Special Virtual Learning Program
Let the year begin!!!
We have planned a stimulating program for both parents and children, thought provoking and supportive while adding a bit of creativity and fun to the at-home preschool experience for the ’20 fall semester.
STAY TUNED FOR OUR SPRING SEMESTER. WE HOPE TO BE AN IN PERSON PROGRAM. FINGERS CROSSED.
You can join in on two levels: Full program of child and parent learning Adult education and support only for a reduced cost.
Although virtual preschool seems counter intuitive, there are a couple of profound benefits for children who can not meet in person:
Teachers maintaining a steady relationship with your children as a consistent anchor in their lives especially during this time is so vitally important!
Adding a bit of "magic" and fun to the lives for the whole family can be stress reducing while increasing connection among children and parents.
Join us!! We hope to build community with you all as is the hallmark of the co-op experience.
For the children: Children will receive:
Three Activity Boxes or "kits" to take home which include
A sensory and natural science box with such items as play-dough, kinetic sand, foam dough, shells, rocks, and some feathers gathered from the beach
A basic art kit with paint, crayons, glue, colored clay, mini ink stamp pads and cork stamp, and some oil pastel crayons
A themed box with activities and ideas to try at home including activities to do in Zoom classroom with teacher/children, and some to do with your child on your own time.
These theme related activity boxes will be re-filled every two to three weeks and require a trip to the school to do so
Zoom classroom for approximately 30 minutes one or two times per week depending on what the class chooses
Daily WhatsApp presentation of a story and song and/or instructions for a special project contained in the kits
Individual one on one with a teacher every other week for a 10 - 15 minute teacher/child check-in, connection and “share.”
For the parents: Weekly small group seminar with 3 - 5 parents, one hour per week to discuss child development & parent ed topics provided by the teachers or parents. Times and days (evening options available) to be determined by parents and teacher.
Once a month virtual evening parent ed workshop presented by both teachers for 1 hour with 30 minutes for questions on an important parenting topic such as Co-parenting, The Value of Play, etc.
One on one individual sessions with a teacher as needed or requested (up to one hour every other week)
Lending library for materials to be borrowed from the school. Toys/games will be made available for check out each time curriculum kits are returned to school to be refilled. This will be set up in a staggered time frame to avoid large groups arriving at once.
Prices for program:
Sliding scale tuition : $150 - $225 per month for all parts of the program (parents and children ) For Sibling concurrently enrolled: add $50 per month
